How it works
01
Fontador dictates rows of characters. You copy them onto plain paper, as you normally write.Write the sheets
02
Take a photo of each sheet. No special paper, template or scanner is needed.Photograph them
03
Each character becomes a traced variant and joins your personal bank of letters.Every character is traced
04
The bank is built into a font you can type with anywhere you write.Use your font
Why it looks real
A stamped font repeats the same shape every time. Yours does not.
Several variants per character
You write each character more than once, so your bank holds a few traced shapes for every letter.Rotated as you type
The font uses the OpenType calt feature to rotate those variants, so repeated letters in a word differ, the way they do on paper.Fix the weak spots
A review screen shows which characters came out thin, and lets you strengthen only those.
See weak characters
Characters with too few or poorly traced variants are listed, so you know where the font is weakest.Shoot a custom sheet
Fontador builds a sheet with just those characters. Write it, photograph it, and the bank improves.Questions
Not yet. Fontador is being built, and this page will say when it opens.
No. Plain paper and a photo from your phone are enough.
Every character keeps several of your traced variants, and the font rotates them as you type.
The review screen shows them, and you can write a short custom sheet for only those characters.
